About a year ago, my wife and I plugged into a whole new world when we brought home our boxer Bella. Since then, people in our neighborhood dog park have told us about pet supply stores, doggy daycare businesses, obedience schools, dog trainers, etc. We have frequented many of these businesses and found them to be consistently better than those we come across on our own. It's interesting how people pick up on the little nuances that make a business better than its competitors.
Recently, we noticed Stay , a boutique pet hotel near our house (yes, entrepreneurs in Portland are pushing the enveloped when it comes to creative businesses serving dog owners). Of course, we asked our friends at Green Dog Pet Supply and Dogs in the City, our dog's favorite doggy daycare center, about Stay's reputation. They both told us that they had customers who had taken their dogs there and were quite pleased.
We left Bella at Stay while we traveled out of town for three days. When I went to pick her up, I'm convinced that I saw a smile on her face. The owners of Stay told me how much they loved Bella and what a great time she had. I was very impressed with the two postcards of Bella that Stay gave me at no charge. These great shots are now prominently displayed on my wife's desk.
Stay's logo is classy, and we don't mind having it on the cards. In fact, the cards are a great example of the perfect client gift since they are personal, useful, and memorable. With great care and savvy marketing, we have no doubt that Stay is here to stay.
